Now in its fifth year, ‘First Frame’ is an initiative that brings together students from film courses, universities and further education institutions from around Ireland to come together to view a curated selection of student films, to participate in workshops and panels with film talent both emerging and established and an opportunity for course leaders and students alike to network with their peers as part of an international film event.
The aim of First Frame is to encourage film students from around the country to engage with the Dublin International Film Festival, but also begin to build their own networks outside of their academic courses. Bringing together the wide range of the institutes of further education and courses from outside Dublin also brings a diverse mix of students to the event. This is the second event hosted by LSAD TUS in association with Dublin International Film Festival. The diff First Frame awards will be announced in Dublin’s Lighthouse Cinema on Thursday 22nd February.

A decision was reached between Film in Limerick and AFCI in consultation with Fis Éireann/ Screen Ireland to postpone this year’s Cineposium event.
Created to provide education and celebrate the greater production industry, Cineposium also held great value to the host city in spotlighting its region and local infrastructure. Due to the ongoing global uncertainty within the international industry right now due to the current WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, we feel it is best for everyone who participates in Cineposium to conduct the event at a later date.
