Had the pleasure recently of cutting the teaser trailer for the Avenue Productions‘ short film, Give Him Time, starring Faye Shortt and Pat Shortt.
The short screened at the 2022 Fastnet Film Festival. as part of programme 8, details a story about a father and daughter’s struggle to communicate after a local scandal, until a timely reminder gets them back on track.

Millennium Sessions 2022

The Millennium Sessions 2022 will be released on Tuesday April 26th at 7pm on the Programme’s YouTube page. Featuring four fantastic acts, Sean O’Meara, Harriis, Tremor and Static Vision.
Produced by the students and staff of the Creative Broadcast & Film Production and the Music Technology & Production Courses at LSAD, the programme consists of short documentaries on each act as well as a recorded performance from the stage of the Millennium Theatre, TUS, in Limerick.

Warts And All – Short Film

Post Production is nearing completion with Simon at ‘Craft- Post House‘ on a new short film Produced by Lee Crowley, Directed by Pat Shortt and starring Michelle Lehane and Danny McCafferty.
The film is also written by Michelle Lehane and was filmed on location in Co.Galway in February 2022. Avenue Productions are behind the short and have previous success with films such as,
- 2021 Give Him Time (Drama)
- 2020 Tyre Kickers (Drama)
- 2019 Old Firm Day (Drama)

The Fresh Film Festival team are super excited to bring you Careers in Screen Mid West, a careers day for senior cycle students, taking place on Wednesday, March 30 as part of the Fresh International Film Festival 2022! ![]()
Ever wondered how to get started in the film and television industry? Careers in Screen is an informative and interactive audience-led event for Transition Year to 6th Year students, which aims to highlight the wide variety of career paths available in film and television. The event will explore the nature of filmmaking as a career and the different skill sets involved, and take a deeper look at the screen industry in Ireland.
Experienced speakers will discuss their own experiences working in the screen sector and give an insight into the collaborative process of film production. The event will also look at screen developments in the region and how best to get involved.
I am delighted to be one of the amazing guest speakers lined up for the Careers in Screen event.
Mike Boland, Studio Manager of Troy Studios, Ireland’s largest production facility will be there, as will Mark Maher, CEO and Founder of Odyssey Studios. The talented model maker has worked on the Hobbit, Alice Through the Looking Glass and Penny Dreadful, to name but a few!
Also in attendance will be Eimear O’Mahony, Executive Producer of Children and Young People’s Content for RTÉ! She has also worked as a producer on Winning Streak, Electric Picnic and even the Late Late Toy Show in 2018!

Creative Broadcast & Film Production – Level 8 (CSO POINTS 310)

This skills based programme offers students an exciting opportunity to explore the world of the broadcast media industry, covering a range of disciplines across film and TV production, visual effects, editing, radio, audio mixing, photography, as well as broadcast technologies across a range of new and traditional media platforms.
We offer our students a range of prospects for both academic and career progression in the broadcast, film, and creative media industries, as well as extensive hands on production work experience. If you have a story to tell, we will show you how.

• Digital Photography & Cinematography Techniques;

Music Technology & Production – Level 8 (CSO POINTS 377)

This programme is designed for students wishing to build a career in the Music and Audio production industry. Graduates will have the knowledge and skills needed to perform at a high-level in a number of modern technical environments, including: recording studios, video editing suites, and in live theatre.
Graduates will know the principles and operation of studio equipment in both digital and analogue realms; will learn the specifics of music, musical instruments and factors affecting the quality of recording, including: mixing, mastering and mass production. Later in the programme, an emphasis is placed on the music business and business planning, particularly in relation to events and events management.
Music Technology and Production students have access to state-of-the-art recording and production facilities at TUS and our experienced lecturers give students the thorough, hands-on and personal support they need to make the most of their studies. Features of the programme include producing music, i.e. recording, synthesizing sequencing, composing, performing, editing, evaluating, marketing and selling music.

Word On The Street – Series 5 – Episode 1

The first episode of Word On The Street (Series 5) has just been released. Produced by the students and staff of Creative Broadcast & Film Production, the episode covers stories from the Moylish Campus, Wickham Way Market in Limerick and the Crescent Shopping Centre.
This is a Film CEL (Film Craftsmanship, Excellence & Learning) production and will form a number of programmes in the future for students to hone their learnt skills and creativity.
