National Day of Commemoration
Posted: July 18, 2014 in Documentary, Editing, Film, live EventTags: Limerick City Hall, Limerick National Day of Commemoration
On Sunday 13th July I had the pleasure of filming Limerick’s national day of Commemoration at City Hall. The rain stayed off long enough for representatives of several religious and political backgrounds to honour all those Irishmen and Irishwomen who died in past wars or on service with the United Nations.
The completed DVD was produced for Limerick City and County Council.

St Marys Cathedral, Limerick.
On June 14th I had the great pleasure of filming the Ordination of the Reverend Edna Wakely to the Priesthood. This event took place at the landmark and historical setting of St Mary’s Cathedral, in Limerick City.
With a large audience in attendance as well as a full choir and parish guests, the ordination was recorded using a 5 camera setup in strategic locations around the cathedral.
The post workflow was a ‘multi-cam edit’ in Avid Media Composer and finally outputted to DVD and digital file for posting.

“Filmmaker Julian Doyle, best know for his editing work on some of the most beloved and influential films of all time. His credits include Brazil, Time Bandits and The Life of Brian. He’s the one who worked out how to chop the Black Knight’s limbs off. He shot the dream sequences in Brazil. His is the hand that covers the camera at the end of The Holy Grail.” (http://www.limerickroyal.ie/royal-picture-show)
