This is a unique opportunity to join the Independent.ie team on a project by project basis to help drive our steadily growing podcast and video output.

We have a unique range of content across both audio and video including The Left Wing with Luke Fitzgerald, the Throw In GAA Championship Podcast and the Floating Voters’ Political Podcast.

This is a chance to work with some of the best talent journalism has to offer on Ireland’s biggest news platform.

The successful candidates will be required to:

* Develop and produce podcasts and/or digital video packages

* Collaborate with editorial colleagues on ideas for audio/video content

* Generate ideas and pitch them in sync with the news cycle

* Liaise with and facilitate presenters, guests and talent required for shows

* Uphold editorial standards in line with INM best practices

* Organise live streaming events subject to requirements

* Create distribution plans across digital platforms including social media

* Be able to edit audio/visual content

Applicants should:

* Have a deep understanding of digital media and how it is different to broadcast

* Have excellent communication skills with the ability to get the best out of talent

* Understand and be highly aware of libel and defamation laws

* Have a good news nose – be able to spot a good line or talking point within a programme

* Have 3+ years proven experience in developing and producing podcasts and/or digital video
